Outings

I went to see Dr. Bhumi on Monday and am proud to announce I am now a great 11 lbs 2.5 oz! I didn't particularly like doing to Dr. Bhumi's this time because I had to get my first round of vaccines. Mom and Dad said I was very brave but I still cried a lot and Mom says my face was the reddest she's ever seen it!

Before we went to the doctor that day Mom was playing with me on my tummy. She was so surprised to see how strong my neck and back had gotten in the last week. Check it out!

That night our family went out to the beach to visit with some friends. Up in Minnesota, Dad grew up down the street from the Cunninghams. Now they spend part of every year down here at the beach, so we went out to visit them before they go back to Minnesota. It was great fun to meet Mr. Merle & Ms. Roine. It was also my first trip to the beach, but it was evening time so we didn't go swimming or anything. Here's a picture of me hanging out with the Cunninghams and one of me with Mom & Dad.

This morning we went to the saturday market in downtown St. Pete. Mom & Dad love the market and were so excited to take me out there. The market had all kinds of cool stuff for me to see and plenty of stuff to buy. Mom bought some fresh-squeeze orange juice, fresh corn and green beans, Plant City strawberries, and some yummy-looking cracked-pepper fettucini from the fresh pasta people. There are all kinds of food vendors there, from fresh bread & desserts to cuban food. You can even get goat milk and duck eggs! There are craft vendors there too with different types of art & jewelry. Check it out at http://www.saturdaymorningmarket.com/ and be sure to scroll down to the bottom and find a market in your area!

Mom stopped to take a picture of me and Dad at the market. As she was putting the camera away a very nice lady stopped and asked if we wanted a picture of the whole family. Wasn't that nice of her? She even managed to take the picture and not spill the bowl of jambalaya she was holding. Frankly, the picture didn't turn out very well, but I wanted to share it (and a few others) anyways because it was so nice of her to take it....

Daycare

Sorry I have not updated my blog in a while. I have just been so busy, what with being the big man around the day care and all. I started day care on Tuesday and by now I've got everyone there wrapped around my finger. I am, after all, the only boy in the infant room. Actually, there's another little boy who was on vacation last week, but I'm sure when he returns he will pale in comparison to my cuteness!
My first week of day care went great. Mom seemed kind of reluctant to leave that first day. I don't know why. She even came back to see me at lunch time that day! But since then she has been better and I have been having a great time. My favorite thing to do is swing in the side-to-side swing, which is kind of like the one we have at home only it sits me up more. I also like playing on the floor with Ms. Karen.
With how busy our family has been Mom has hardly had a single moment to take a good picture of me. Here are a few quick snap shots she took last weekend. For those of you who followed my Becoming Baby Shores blog, you'll remember the onesie my Uncle Jason gave me for Christmas. I'm finally big enough to fit in it, so Mom & Dad got a picture of me last weekend. You can clearly see how I feel about it. The second picture is just to show of my sweet face and my incredibly chubby cheeks!

Work and Turtles

Mom went back to work on Wednesday this week. It was a pretty tough morning that first day but we all made it through. Mom says she enjoys being back at work but she misses me too. I stayed with Aunt Jamie while Mom was at work and we had a great time. Mom and Dad say they miss her being here because she was super helpful. Aunt Jamie, Mom promises to come help you out a lot when you have your litter! This week, I am staying with Yia Yia and Caitlyn, who is on spring break this week. Caitlyn has already read me lots of books and she is such a great reader!
This morning, Mom and Dad and I went to the park so that I could see all the kids playing on the playground. When we got there we had a great surprise. There was a turtle laying eggs right there next to the playground! She had dug a big hole and had backed herself into it. When she was done Mama Turtle walked right past all of us and back into the lake.
Here are a few pictures from our trip to the park...
