I can only take a few steps by myself before I eat it but that's something, right?

All of that walking can really tucker a person out!

My Birthday Party

Wow, I had such a great first birthday party!

The morning of my birthday Mom, Dad, Aunt Jamie & Grammie worked really hard to decorate our house for my party. They put up banners, streamers, and balloons. I thought it looked so fun! They also set up the party table including my party hats and cake. Actually, I had two cakes. Don't they look yummy?

I really enjoyed opening my presents but sometimes I got distracted. Thanks to everyone for my great presents!

Everyone was most excited for the cake that day (who doesn't love birthday cake?). I think they really just wanted to see me eating it because everyone was standing around staring at me when I got my cake. I wasn't so sure at first but eventually I really got into playing with the icing. I really liked playing with it more than I liked eating it:
Yummy, huh? And it's not even my real birthday yet!

p.s. I know you were probably hoping for a picture of Dad doing the Hot Dog Dance. Unfortunately, he didn't perform it for us at my party. Don't give up hope, though, because I got a Mickey Mouse DVD for my birthday, so maybe I can snap a picture sometime when we're watching it!

Like the look of my new blog?

Pretty spiffy huh? Anyhow, I need to say "hi" to Dad's friend Celeste. Dad says she gets upset when I don't update my blog regularly and I don't want to alienate my loyal readers. So...Hi, Celeste and Happy Belated Birthday! I'll try to update more regularly but no promises.

Speaking of birthdays, guess who is having a birthday in one week! ME!!!! Can you believe I am turning one already? Mom and Dad definitely can't. They remember bringing me home from the hospital and driving about 5 miles per hour the whole way. They say that was certainly not one year ago!

Like it or not, however, my birthday is coming up. I am having a party this weekend. It is going to be Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed because I love Mickey Mouse. Every time I see Mickey Mouse on tv, I get a big grin on my face. My favorite thing is the Mouseketools song. I also like watching Dad do the Hot Dog Dance. I promise to post lots of pictures from my party next week! (If you're lucky, maybe I'll have one of Dad doing the Hot Dog Dance!)

This week has been unseasonably warm in Chicago. On Tuesday it was 60 degrees!! To take advantage of it, Mom and I played outside in the driveway for a long time. I had such a good time running up and down the driveway (okay not running, but I was walking with my little push cart). I was so stinky and gross afterwards, though, so Mom said I had to have a bath. I'm embarrassed to say that Mom took some pictures of me in the tub. Here are a few:

(p.s. Aunt Jamie, Mom says the last one is not a good picture because the focus is on my ears but she's including it just for you and hopes you'll know why!)

Yesterday, we did something even crazier than that. We finger painted!!!! I thought finger painting was so funny. I loved to squish the paint in my hands and see my hands get all blue. Mom said I looked like a smurf:

My Grammie and Aunt Jamie are coming to visit today and Uncle Jason and his friend Cathy are coming on Saturday. Won't my party be so fun? Bet you can't wait to see pictures! (But you're gonna have to.) Bye for now!

Beautiful Birmingham

Mom and I went to Birmingham this weekend to visit Granddude following his surgery. He is doing great and speeding along through his recovery (Aunt Jamie worries that he is speeding a little too quickly but he is a race car driver, right?). It was kind of chilly while we were there but it was nothing compared to Chicago-cold, so we took advantage and got outdoors a lot. Mom, Aunt Jamie, and I went to the park on Friday:

On Saturday, Granddude was feeling well enough to go for a walk outdoors. I helped him out by letting him push my stroller:

Mom was super excited to be somewhere without snow on the ground. Why? Because she could get some camera-practice in, of course. What do you think?
