Trip to the Playground: A Max-umentary

Ever wonder what a 17-month old kid does at a playground? Let me show you:

First, I scope out all the possibilities...

Then I attempt to impress everyone with my amazing feats of daring....

Then I climb on some more stuff...

Then, being an incredibly brave kid, I climb to the top of the slide...

And slide down...
Then I ride on the horse-y thing-y (really, it's cooler than it sounds)...

Then it's time to chill...

And be seen...

Finally, I stop to smell the roses (I mean daisies)...
Tired yet? (Don't tell anyone, but I fell asleep in the car on the way home)

Choo Choo

When I was a baby, I didn't know how to say any words except "wah! wah!" Now that I'm a big boy, however, I'm learning new words every day. Just this week I learned shoes, shirt, juice, cup, and nana (banana).

One of my very favorite things to say is "Choo Choo." Not only am I really good at saying the word, I also really like to see choo choos, so I always point them out whenever I see them. I really like it when Dad and I go pick up Mom from the train station in the afternoon because I get to see Mommy getting off the choo choo.

Yesterday, Mom suggested we go outside to play with my choo choo (I suspect she had ulterior motives, however).

Fun in the Sun

Also, I forgot to tell you about the Shores Family Reunion a couple weeks ago. We went to my Grandpa Al's house in Minnesota and I got to play with a bunch of my cousins. I also learned about driving a power wheels tractor. I was a natural.

Fourth of July

Raise your hand if you think I freaked out at the 4th of July fireworks.

Well guess what? You're wrong! Our family went to Minnesota for the Fourth and we had a great time. By the time the fireworks came around on Saturday, I was plum tuckered out and just laid there in my stroller and allowed the fireworks to hypnotize me. At the end of the show, however, I did show my appreciation by applauding with everyone in the crowd.

Here I am playing around at the 4th of July festivities:

My new friend Elijah used Mom's camera and tried to get some pictures of me. I'm a little too fast for him, though, so he ended up with Mom instead:

Earlier in the weekend our family went and visited some of our loved ones. I visited my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother and there was an angel there that I liked. Dad says my Great Grandparents probably like me too:
